There is strength in numbers, especially when it comes from the support of your friends and family. Life changes can be hard and sometimes almost impossible without some kind of support system. I know this from years of experience struggling with my own doubt and inconsistencies. Starting or quitting something can be extremely hard. When there is a little dark cloud overhead, having an extra hand to hold the umbrella can mean the world. Believe you can take on your challenges and do anything if you put your mind to it. Asking for and receiving help is not a form of weakness, it is a part of growing. There is nothing better than having a personal cheerleader, someone behind you saying, "You can do it!" and encouraging you to be your best!Â
We can use support in different areas of our lives, but I am going to focus on fitness goals. This not so uncommon tool, "the buddy system", can be a great deal of help for keeping on track. Having someone to keep you accountable and to have someone to talk to when you are having difficulties makes a huge difference. I am not talking for all people, just what has helped me and what maybe helpful for you. Some of you lone wolves out there, get down with your bad dedicated self. How I envy your persistent dedication! I need a some hand holding. What I have found that helped me is to connect with a fitness buddy who has similar goals. It can help keep you accountable to stay on track.
Also, joining a fitness community and supporting each other is another positive way to achieve your goals. Take advantage of our forum to make new friends and get involved. Classes are a great way to meet new friends. We are here for you and support you in your fitness journey.
